2023 Talent Show

Thank you for showing interest in our 2023 Talent show event hosted by FaithAction International House in collaboration with the UNCG Office of Leadership and Civic Engagement by an undergraduate student Gold Leadership Challenge Project. This event will take place on March 31st, 2023 from 6-9pm at the UNCG Curry Auditorium Building 225, located at 1109 Spring Garden St, Greensboro, NC 27412

Parking will be available at the Oakland parking deck. 690 Forest St, Greensboro, NC 27403

The purpose of this project is to create a talent show event that will help fundraise for FaithAction’s toiletry/food pantry and help with a donation box at the event. The other goal for this talent show is to create a platform for community members to express themselves through their talents.

About Auditioning

On the day of the event, the top three winners will be announced and will receive a cash prize. 1st place $100, 2nd place $50, and 3rd place $25. The first place winner will also have the opportunity to have their talent showcased on social media!

If you are interested in auditioning to perform at this event, please fill out your information in this link https://forms.gle/sysd9XMMsaEnriYJA in order to be registered to participate in the audition. We will contact you in 24-48 hours to confirm you are registered. NOTE: There is no fee to audition or participate!

Any talent can participate: Musical instrument, vocals, music production, dance, etc. Presentation for the audition has to be 1 minute. At the day of the Event participant will have to perform for minimum 3 minutes and maximum 5 minutes. 

There will be three options as to how you can audition. The first will be the only in-person audition date which is February 28, 2023 from 4pm-8pm. The location will be 2211 W Meadowview Rd Greensboro, NC 27407.  This location is the FaithAction office located in the Boone Building at Meadowview Crossing.

The second option is an online audition through email. Once you have your video ready, you can send it to the audition email: faithactionauditions@gmail.com. Each audition should be 2-4 minutes. If you have any questions such as needing assistance with sending the video through email or general inquiries, you can contact Grace: tgacostavie@uncg.edu to talk to the coordinator of this project or call at 336-379-0037 and ask to speak with Jasiel or Endy who are the main collaborators from FaithAction.

Participants can also send a link for their audition video (such as a social media link like YouTube) if video is not able to be sent through email.

There will also be a drop in Zoom audition March 17th from 10 am – 12 pm. 

Audition requirements:

• Participants of all ages are welcome. Anyone 18 and under needs to sign a consent form by the parent or guardian. The document can be sent online and more information will be given if the participant signs up on the google form. 
• If sending a video or auditioning in-person; The time limit is 4 minutes. You have up to 4 minutes to perform.
• There will be no equipment provided if doing an in person audition. You will need to provide your own equipment (instruments, sound boards, visuals, etc). You can contact Grace ahead of time (4 days in advance before auditioning) to see if there are any commendations that can be made or any equipment available.

For the day of the event: Starting the second week of February until the first week of March (February 8- March 10), there will be an early bird special. These early bird tickets will cost $5 per person to attend the Talent Show. We will have a website link for you to purchase your admission ticket. You will also have the option to donate if you would like as well – all donations go to FaithAction International House. If you miss the early bird special, tickets will be $10 at the door. You can also pay the $5 in person at FaithAction during the time period mentioned (February 8- March 10). Please consider bringing an item (like shampoo, soap, toothpaste, sanitary pads, or even canned foods) the day of the event to help contribute even more for our community.

All of the money raised will help FaithAction continue serving and loving our newest neighbors!

El propósito de este proyecto es crear un evento de espectáculo de talentos que ayudará a recaudar fondos para la despensa de alimentos de FaithAction. El segundo objetivo es crear una plataforma de expresión para miembros de la comunidad.

Acerca de la audición

El día del evento, los tres primeros ganadores serán anunciados y ganarán un premio. Primer lugar $100, segundo lugar $50 y tercer lugar $25. El ganador del primer lugar también tendrá la oportunidad de mostrar su talento en las redes sociales.

• No se proporcionará equipo especial si haces una audición en persona. Puede comunicarse con Grace con anticipación (4 días antes de la audición) para ver si hay alguna recomendación que se pueda hacer o algún equipo disponible.

Para el día del evento: A partir de la segunda semana de febrero hasta la primera semana de marzo (del 8 de febrero al 10 de marzo), habrá un especial de compra de boletos.. Tendremos un enlace en el sitio web para comprar su boleto con anticipación a solo $5. También tendrá la opción de donar si así lo desea. Si decides no pagar durante este período de tiempo, tendrás que pagar $10 en la puerta el día del evento. También puede pagar los $5 en persona en FaithAction durante en el período mencionado (del 8 de febrero al 10 de marzo). Sería muy generoso si pudiera traer una donación (como champú, jabón, pasta de dientes, toallas sanitarias o incluso alimentos enlatados) el día del evento para ayudar a contribuir aún más a nuestra comunidad.

Todo el dinero recaudado, incluidos los boletos, contribuirá a la despensa de donaciones y ayudará a una buena causa en la comunidad de Greensboro.
